About Sher

Sher Stoneman is an award-winning photojournalist based in St. Paul, Minnesota. For more than two decades, she has chronicled the lives of everyday people, capturing everything from a happy couple’s first wedding dance to a young mom’s struggle with breast cancer with her children by her side.

As a news photographer, Sher instinctively responds to what's happening around her. She lets people tell their own stories while she records from behind the lens. By photographing life as it happens, Sher's images reveal the personalities and emotions of her subjects.

In addition to her work as a staff photographer at three daily newspapers, her photographs have appeared in the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Tribune, the Washington Post, USA Today, Ms. Magazine, Time, Newsweek and many other regional and national publications.
